How It All Started

In 2020, Mark asked himself a question. Is there a better way of determining if there’s pressure behind a sprinkler head before you unscrew it and potentially flood the location with water under 2,000kPa of pressure?

It was a question he asked of Anthony, who has a background in Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) and developing new technology.

Birth Of The Fire Catch

Together, they combined their thinking and resources to determine a way to perform this test simply, elegantly, and cost effectively.



Once the principle was thought through, Fire NDT approached Deakin University in Geelong to validate the hypothesis.

After several months the report came back positive, and the Fire Catch was born.

The vehicle for commercialising the Fire Catch is Fire NDT Pty Ltd - a private Australian company formed in 2022.

We are proudly Australian-based, produce the technology in Australia and now export it to the world – all with the protection of patents.

Our story has just begun and it shows the power of collaboration, left-field thinking, and belief.
